Hojatoleslam Sheikh Ahmad Bahraini

Hojatoleslam Sheikh Ahmad Bahraini is a graduate of Qum Seminary.  He has completed the highest level of courses in Islamic Philosophy (Falsaf-e Islami), Islamic Religious Jurisprudence and Principles (Fiqh wa Usul), and Islamic Mysticisms (Irfan-e Islami).  He also has extensive studies in Arabic and Quran Literature, Quran Interpretation, Islamic Economy and History of Islam.

Hojatoleslam Bahraini is a Mujtahid with permission of Ijtehad and representation from several religious authorities including late Grand Ayatollah Araki (Rezwanollah), and Grand Maraje' Behjat, Makarem Shirazi, and Lankarani (damat efazatehom).

A scholar and a teacher, he has taught both in Qum Seminary and Shahid Beheshti University for more than 11 years. His long tenure at the Shahid Beheshti University has not only involved teaching but many innovative initiatives dealing with the cultural and social problems that the new generation of young and vibrant students in an Islamic society are facing. He is the founder of "Student Marriages" that until now has resulted in thousands of weddings among the university students in Iran. He is the founder and advisor of several student publications (New Perspective, 4th Step, ...), several student cultural center and several student religious centers.  He has taught at and collaborated with the Women Division of the Qum Seminary for 10 years. 

Hojatoleslam Bahraini came to IEC from England where he is the Director of Islamic Center of Mancheter in United Kingdom. He brings a unique perspective to our community.  His vast knowledge of Islamic Philosophy and Islamic Irfan (Mysticism) will quench the thirst of those looking for a guiding light, while his authority in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) will help guide the life of our Muslim community and provides answers to our questions. His work experience with the youths and women promises to open new chapters of development and enrichment in our community and his scholarly approach will enhance the special classes and  programs at IEC. His experience in dealing with issues of Muslim community in England will certainly enhance his effectiveness in our community.

IEC Board of Trustees and Executive Committee are immensely delighted and proud of the presence of such an scholar among us and thank Allah, sobhanahoo wa ta'ala, for answering our prayers. On behalf of the community we extend our prayers for his health and success and invite the whole community to take advantage of his presence by attending the events at IEC.
